Good morning everyone. The weekend has finally arrived
with an extra day off on Monday too. Yey! Hopefully the
extra day off will give me that much needed ME DAY.
Yesterday I stopped by our local thrift store that is run
by our Christian School to see what was new. All the
money goes to the school to support the kids which is
a good thing. It is a privately owned school with no
money received from the State. Last fall right before
school was about to start someone stole all the copper
wiring from their heating and cooling system. They had
alot of donations to the store to get the system fixed
in time for school to start. It set them back a little
with having to repair the system and now they are
working on raising funds to run the school. Since
they put new items out everyday I decided to stop
by and see how they are doing. It was worth the
stop yesterday because I found some rooster
and chicken items to add to my collection.
I found this nice hen with her eggs sitting in a nest for $3.00.
This chicken lamp for $1.00 and a rooster figurine for .25 cents.
And these wonderful faux apples for $1.00. When I first saw these I thought
they were real. Very nice for a summer display. Not a bad day shopping and all
for under $10.00. and the money goes to a good cause.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Until next time, keep crafting
Tamera

Great finds! I love your chicken in the nest and the apples are so realistic!

Wow, Tamera, those apples really do look real! Actually, the eggs do too! That's awful about the copper wire theft. It's happening so many places and to companies that can't afford the repairs! ~Roberta
ReplyDeleteoh I love the chicken and eggs..and those faux apples can be turned into faux caramel apples should you choose..you got some great bargains..have a wonderful weekend.;)
ReplyDeleteI love chickens, too! Those apples will be an awesome centerpiece and they won't go bad!
ReplyDeleteYou are fortunate to have a place to shop where you know the proceeds are going to a good cause. Shame on anyone that would steal from a school!
Great finds Tamera, so much cheap fun, got to love it. Can't wait to see those apples in something..not pie either.

I remember you posting about someone stealing from that school. Good for you in helping out (plus finding some great goodies for you!). Those apples DO look real, they look so juicy and good enough to eat!
